{Empanadas with Chili-Cheese Sauce}

This is one of Dan's most requested meals! It is easy, quick and yummy :-)

  • 1 lb. ground beef

  • 6 refrigerated biscuits (most packages come in 8 so you can cook the others as directed for another meal)

  • 1 envelope taco seasoning

  • 1/4 cup water

  • 1 can diced tomatoes

  • 1 cup store bought salsa cheese sauce

  1. Heat oven to 450

  2. Cook beef in a skillet until browned, draining if needed

  3. Meanwhile, use a rolling pin to flatten each biscuit to about 4 1/2 inches across and 1/4 thick. Place on baking sheet.

  4. When meat is done, stir in taco seasoning and water. Remove from heat.

  5. Place about 2 T. of meat on each biscuit and fold to form a turnover (you will have extra meat in the skillet). Bake turnovers for about 8 minutes.

  6. Add the tomatoes with their juice and the salsa cheese sauce to the extra meat and place over low heat, stirring well. Simmer until turnovers are done, stirring occasionally.

  7. To serve, top the turnovers with the sauce. Enjoy!!

Is the salsa cheese sauce the Salsa Con Queso? Just bought the ingredients to try it. Can't wait!

Yes, I just buy the tostitos brand.

Just thought I'd tell you that we just had this for dinner, and it was SO yummy! Thanks for the recipe share... Everyone keep them coming! I think next time I'll make all of the biscuits in the package so that we have leftovers with the extra sauce. Maybe Matt and I were really hungry, but we each ate three.
